COVID-19 - Latest Information on Training Courses and Charter  

Our staff and customers health, safety and security is our highest priority. We have therefore outlined the steps we are taking to reduce the risk and spread of Covid-19 while following the current government guidlines.

If you have a course/charter booked and are showing symptoms of COVID-19 or live with somebody who is, please contact our office on 01473 659992 as early as possible so we can make suitable arrangements with you. For information on symptoms please refer to the NHS or Government website.

Reception

  • Implemented a 2m social distancing rule
  • Hand sanitiser available on entry and exit
  • One customer only in the office at a time
  • Take bank transfers and contactless payments, where possible
  • Frequent cleaning of the office area using disinfectant to include any high contact points
  • All paperwork prior to the course will be completed via email, where possible

 Charter

  • In addition to our usual deep cleaning procedure on board in between charters we will disinfect all high contact points before arrival, these include:
      • Handles
      • Saloon/Galley
      • Handrails
      • Hard Surfaces 
      • Toilets
  • Disinfectant and anti-bacterial cleaner is available onboard our yachts throughout the charter (please ensure all cleaning materials we have provided are left on board when you depart)
  • Hired clothing will not be re-hired within 72 hours
  • Handover will be completed on the pontoon and in the cockpit where possible and the charterer will be asked to show a full understanding of the saloon/galley area, this may take longer than usual to ensure that this is fully understood by the charterer 
  • Returning chaterers will need to ensure all high contact points have be disinfected before departing the vessel, to ensure the safety of our staff
  • Handback will be completed on the pontoon/cockpit and a full boat check will take place 72 hours after you have departed, this may result in a small delay in the return of your deposit

Dinghy Sailing

  • Customers are asked to bring their own kit, where this is not possible we have buoyancy aids available and these are disinfected between uses
  • Courses are taught with a maximum of 5 students to 1 instructor 
  • Students will sail/be towed to our sailing area on the river to ensure social distancing is maintained 
  • Classrooms are currently not available and all teaching will be done outside
  • If we get inclement weather conditions we will have to review the running of the course and we will reschedule with the closest possible date
  • Changing rooms are not available for now, based on current guidelines and we would therefore ask that you arrive fully kitted
  • Students will sail in single handers and not share boats if they are from different households
  • Students will use the same dinghy for the duration of the course and each dinghy is disinfected between courses

Powerboat/Personal Watercraft

  • Personal Watercraft courses are available to single households/bubbles (up to a maximum of 3 students)
  • Where possible use of your own Jet Ski is preferable, however our Jet Ski is available for use and will be disinfected between courses
  • Powerboat courses are currently not available based on Government and RYA Guidance
