New Motor Cruiser Arrives at EASS

After many successful years with our Fairline Turbo 36, Finesse II is sadly retiring to the French Inland Waterways. A new Motor Cruiser for East Anglian Sea School has arrived at Levington. This new ultra-modern Haines 35 Offshore has twin fly by wire Yanmar Diesels using conventional drives of shafts and rudders. It has a full Raymarine electronics package including auto pilot and radar. To complement the Yanmar Diesels this is our first vessel with a bow-thruster to make her easy to handle.

Masterclasses New for 2012 - one day courses to improve your skills in specialised areas:

Sail Trim - A one day course designed to give you more knowledge and great tips on how to better your performance. For enthusiastic racers or cruisers wishing to get the best out of their sails.

Spinnaker Handling - A fund and relaxed day where you will be able to understand how spinnakers work you will be expected to participate 'hands on' in a controlled environment.

Boat Handling - "Taking the nerves out of parking". Practicing close quarter manoeuvres and berthing in marinas. Your instructor will cover all you need to know about how a boat behaves under power.

Flotilla Training - Ideal if you are planning a flotilla holiday or charter abroad. This 2 day course is designed to give you confidence in confined spaces, anchoring stern to, handling windy harbours, use of lazy lines and more.

Suddenly Alone - Would you be able to stop the boat, call for help and maybe administer basic first aid or even save a life? This course covers those actions needed to be taken in a moment of panic!

Dinghy Instructor Course April 2012

If you wish your child to progress on to be able to teach dinghy sailing , then you can book our 3 day pre-assessment course followed by a 5 day instructor course running over the school Easter break in 2012.

Teenage Sailing Weeks - New for 2012

We are offering teenage sailing weeks during the school hoidays to enable enthusiastic young sailors to enjoy a week with other students of a similar age. A fun packed week is planned and these courses can be Time Afloat or to gain RYA Certificates.

Round Britain 2012 - Our ever popular Round Britain cruise is already filling up. The cruise can be taken in individual legs (7 days) or you can stay on board to circumnavigate the UK. Organised stop off points are near a local airport so you can arrange convenient outward or return flights.

Cork Week - An excellent fun week for gaining racing experience. No previous knowledge necessary as there will be a professional skipper on board.

Channel Islands Cruise - starting from Levington in June, the cruise will give the opportunity to build sea miles, see some different ports and have fun sailing. Possible ports of call could include the French coast, Alderney, Sark, St Peters Port & St. Helier to name a few.

Combined Theory and Practical Courses - 9 Days. We are now running combined courses for Day Skipper (9 days) and Coastal Skipper (10 days). Both courses will start in the classroom and move to one of our 'Strata' boats to complete the practical side of the course. These are ideal if you have limited holiday time available from work as Day Skipper would only use 5 days of annual leave and Coastal Skipper 6 days.

East Aegean Sea School based in Marmaris, Turkey has enjoyed a succesful last two seasons. Our courses are going from strength to strength and in 2012 we will again be running RYA non-tidal 5 day courses on board our own Bavaria 38. We can also teach combined theory and practical courses, VHF and First Aid.

A 5m powerboat is available for us to teach Powerboat Level 2 to Advanced.

On 18th-25th August we are running the East Aegean Turquoise Cup when there will be a number of boats sailing out of Marmaris competing in fun afternoon races with daily prizes, stopping over at different restaurants each evening culminating in a prize giving evening at the end of the week. Book your boat early as a family or with friends to get the best deal on flights.

Fancy a change?

If you decide that it's time for a change of direction and either want to build on the experience you already have or wish to start from scratch we can train you up to the level of Yachtmaster Ocean Commercial Instructor. Your office could then be on the water anywhere in the world.

Corporate Events

These can be arranged on board our sailing yachts, motor cruiser or exciting eight metre rigid inflatable with 250 hp Yamaha outboard to accommodate team building structures, management training or employee incentives. We take a maximum of five people per boat and the day or days can be designed to suit your specific requirements. Hospitality events can also be arranged from a picnic at anchor, fish and chips or with one of the local waterside restaurants.

Boating for all

Our premises were planned with full accessibility for disabled students and we continue to welcome adults with all disabilities on our integrated shorebased and practical courses.
